📚 Cheatsheet ​
- UPI transactions upto 50K are exempt from tax [Source]

- You can claim LTA twice in a block of 4 years.
- You can claim LTA for travel within India only.
- You can claim LTA for travel of self, spouse, children, parents, siblings who are dependent on you.
- You can claim LTA for travel by air, rail, bus, taxi, etc. but not for hotel stay, food, etc.
- Minimum of actual LTA by your employer or amount spent on travel is exempt from tax. For example, if your employer provides 40K as LTA and you spend 50K on travel, then 40K will be exempt from tax and 10K will be taxable.
- You won't able to claim LTA if you travel luxurious. For example, You can't claim LTA for travel by business class. There are other such rules for train and bus travel.
- Unused LTA can be carried forward to next block of 4 years. You have to spend it in first year of next block and you can only carry forward one LTA.
- Term Insurance premium get tax exemption under 80C
- You don't have to pay any taxes on long term capital gains from equity mutual funds if the gains are less than ₹ 1 lakh in a financial year.

- 80D deductions upto 25K
- 25k for health insurance premium for self, spouse, dependent children
- Upto 50k for senior citizens
- 5k for preventive health checkup of self, spouse, dependent children or parents (Source)

- If you invest the capital gains in a residential property, you don't have to pay any taxes on it. Hence, You can sell your mutual funds for buying house without paying any tax. (Source)
My Calculations
Below total will be safe zone for tax exemption. Above this, tax will be applicable. For example, If you are earning 8L per year, then you can save 7.11L from tax and rest 89K will be taxable.
